I've since moved on to greener pastures, full of Apples. I still haven't found a use for Evernote. I rolled my own solution using WireTap and rsync.

There is a LINUX version of Evernote - it's called Nevernote and you can find it here:
http://nevernote.sourceforge.net/
There's just a few requirements to get it running... follow the instructions and visit their forum!

You can choose between 32 bit or 64.

I got it working fine and it runs well...!

You can add the evernote webclipper extension to your browser...

[...] Lorin Tackett wrote an interesting post today on Using Microsoft OneNote instead of EvernoteHere’s a quick excerptIt was a natural progression to go to Microsoft OneNote as audio recording is one of its main features. I can put as many ideas on one ‘page’ as I like, which is especially useful to me as I might come up with several variations on the … [...]

That's true, and a good point that I forgot to bring up, though the importance of cross-platform compatibility currently (for me) only extends across Windows and Linux. I sincerely doubt Evernote will ever be ported to Linux. Besides... isn't there an Emacs macro that does note taking? =)

I have been meaning to check out Jott. Haven't had the time. Thanks for the tip.

If you're multi-computer, multi-environment though, Evernote is killer. I have two Macs and a half dozen Windows machines where I need to be able to get to thoughts at a moment's notice. Evernote's sync feature makes that awfully easy to do.

Evernote also will evolve quickly where OneNote will be expanded as Microsoft releases service packs and new editions of Office. OneNote is more feature rich, for now, but I could see that changing, quickly.

Also have you considered using Jott to send audio via email to Evernote? Just a thought.
